07/10/2001  News from Walter and Ian:

Dear friends:

Class this Saturday will be at the Lesbian & Gay Center's restored location
- 208, West 13th St. - at the regular time of 2-3.30 pm. Also, in deference
to the mortal condition (see poem below), we will be taking a break for the
month of August.
Thus, we will meet July 14, 21, 28 and resume September 1. Thank you to all
who have supported our venture.

Best Wishes

'Ode to the Corporeal Temple'
(Sonnet praying a month of rest for Libertango Dance Company)

Though feet should fly and tread on insubstantial air
And mortals vie with angels on celestial floor,
The weary earthling must resort to rest, repair
Tired limbs that Nature's nurses, Time and Sleep, restore.
Lacking ambrosia to undo wear and tear,
A method more conventional is brought to bear:
Well-earned repose is healing remedy to spare
The thousand natural shocks to which mere flesh is heir.
So must the natural being, looking heavenward,
Acknowledge that he was at first of earth begot.
Though quickened by life-giving Spirit afterward,
Initially he could not flee his earthbound lot.
To err is human, and although it cause delay,
Kindly forgive this muddy vesture of decay.
