When

What
is the SHSAT Test Structure
The SHSAT consists of two parts that have to be completed in 2 1/2
hours.
- Verbal Section (45 questions)
- Scrambled Paragraphs
- Logical Reasoning
- Reading Comprehension
- Math Section (50 questions)
- Arithmetic
- Algebra
- Geometry
How
does the SHSAT determine admission to one of the specialized high-schools?
Number of correct questions in the SHSAT determine the Raw score
(out of 100), which in turn is converted to a scaled score (200-800).
Candidates are ranked, and a "cut-off" score for each school is
established based upon: overall scores, number of students selecting
a school as their first choice and the number of spaces available.
Places are awarded to those students who earn the highest scores
on the entrance exam and are top-ranked.
